The Business Placement Center offers many on-line resources for SIU Business students to utilize to assist them in their career exploration activities. We are proud to partner with many well-known organizations to offer our Salukis the best resources on-line. When business students need to research a particular organization, find an internship or learn the nuances of workplace politics, they know they can find information at their fingertips thanks to the resources listed below. Please note: The resources listed below are specifically for SIU students enrolled in College of Business major or minor programs. Students not affiliated with the College of Business are encouraged to utilize the services of SIU University Career Services (http://careerservices.siuc.edu).

eRecruiting

  • Your User ID is the first letter of your first name, first three letters of your last name, and the last four digits of your Dawgtag#.  Example:  Jack Smith’s (#850012345) User ID is jsmi2345. (Note: If your login doesn't work with the Dawgtag, try the last 4 of your Social Security number. While we have made every effort to convert students from the previous system, some old logins may still exist in the database. Please feel free to come by Rehn 113 to have your user ID converted to the new system at your convenience)
  • Your password is siucba (it can be changed when you log in)
  • Select Profile then Edit and enter your personal information
  • Choose Documents, Upload Documents and upload your resume
  • Wait until the Status of your resume changes to Ready (it take 5-10 minutes)
  • Select Publish Resume and publish your resume (Note:  If you do not publish your resume recruiters will not be able to view it)
  • You are now ready to search through Jobs & Internships

Vault logoVault.com.  The Vault Online Career Library is a digital resource aimed at Masters (MBA / MAcc) students that provides comprehensive career information and management tools. This year the College of Business joined over 1,200 colleges and universities, alumni organizations and public libraries subscribe to the Online Career Library, including Harvard Business School, Northwestern University School of Continuing Studies, Yale Law School, Stanford University, University of Chicago Alumni Association, the New York Public Library and the U.S. Joint Service Academies.

With over 140 titles covering a multitude of workplace topics, thousands of company and university profiles, data on occupations and industries, up-to-the-minute message boards, job-related video feeds, blogs and robust research tools, the Vault Online Career Library is a vital tool for schools, libraries and associations that want to serve their patrons with actionable and relevant career resources.

Wet Feet LogoWetFeet.  Another new addition for Fall 2009, WetFeet.com is designed to provide undergraduate students with informative and entertaining career resource tools. Being a College of Business student means YOU get access to a full-media site with exclusive WetFeet.com features, new and improved Career Resource Sites, CareerTV.com videos and much more!

Business Salukis also get access to over 65 downloadable WetFeet Insider Guides. The goal of the Insider Guides is to present companies and industries in an unbiased light. Companies and organizations are often researched by WetFeet to verify facts and figures, but are not entitled to interfere with the editorial voice. Their editorial team gathers highly accurate information, analyzes it, adding the perspective of industry insiders, and presents it in an appealing, contemporary format.
